I want to upgrade my discourse from a very old version to the latest version A backup package from the original discourse contains a meta.json file： {"source":"discourse","version":20160405172827} When I restore the backup in the latest discourse, the following error was encountered: [2019-12-10 …

There are experts here who surely will have better replies than mine, but still: Maybe you can try to install an older version of Discourse (corresponding to your backup’s one), then restore your backup, and then update Discourse via the command line.

Congratulations! You are the first person to report this bug that I know of. I fixed it two weeks ago and thought to myself: “Wow, nobody has reported that yet, even though it has been broken for a very long time.” Anyway, that fix isn’t available yet, since it is part of a big over…

Just to know, would my suggestion work in this case?

As long as you find an old version where restoring still works, yes. But you might also need to find a version of discourse_docker that is compatible with an old, unsupported version of Discourse. That complicates things a bit.

Thanks for your reply. On the bus home, I have been thinking about where to find such an old image.

Ah, yeah, I think there was another bug. Make sure that the dump.sql is gzipped before you add it to the tar file. The backup must contain a dump.sql.gz.

in my case, there is a dump.sql but not dump.sql.gz. I am trying again.

After I compressed dump.sql and re-uploaded the backup file, I encountered this error. Can you help me？ [2019-12-11 00:58:37] '18401535466' has started the restore!
