Looking for a Ruby + Discourse specialist (contract, remote)
Hi everyone 
We need someone with deep Discourse experience to lead an integration between Discourse and an existing Community app at a large US company.
The work: SSO via Okta/OIDC, group & role mapping into Discourse groups, backend Ruby adapters (moderation, taxonomy, role sync) behind feature flags, a shared header/nav, and webhook pipelines into Snowflake — plus a solid cutover and rollback plan. You’d partner closely with backend, frontend, security, IT, and data engineering.
Good fit if you have:
- Experience with Ruby/Rails
- Real hands-on Discourse customization (plugins, themes, core)
- SSO flows (OIDC, OAuth2, Okta) and secure token handling
- Experience shipping behind feature flags
- Comfort with APIs, background jobs, webhooks, and technical design docs
- Advanced English
Nice to have:
Snowflake, cross-app nav/shared headers, enterprise IT/Security/Data coordination, DevOps for Ruby services.
