I just updated my Discourse instance; I’m now at 158af4674d75807b5d5cb423430630ff2140e6ef. Unfortunately the problem persists, identical to the recording I shared in the first post. I uninstalled and reinstalled the PWA (in attempt to purge cache) and still no dice.
