Odd. I was about to make a topic for this for the Meta Branded theme, having been unable to repro on Horizon and Foundation since there wasn’t a search bar in the header (for me, it seems?) other themes as well (thanks, Moin).

Meta is currently on a branch while we try out some things (specifically GitHub - discourse/discourse at discoveries-1 · GitHub)
the overlap appears for people with the preference Enable AI search discoveries unchecked… I’ll have it fixed soon! (meta.discourse.org/my/preferences/interface)
