I’d like to request badge search functionality on the Admin > Badges page. The search already exists, because it is there when you award badges from other areas, but not sure why it isn’t on the Admin > Badges page itself. I often need to scroll down an impossibly long list to find the badge I want to copy to make a new one, or to find the badge that I want to bulk award. You can use the browser search, of course, but that catches things not in the list, and also… just why not when the search already exists elsewhere?

Zanbabe requested the addition of a search function to the Admin > Badges page, noting that while the feature exists elsewhere in the interface, the main badge list requires tedious scrolling. zogstrip responded by linking to a pull request (#37527) that implements this exact functionality. Zanbabe confirmed the solution looked correct and asked about the release timeline. Moin and zogstrip clarified that the feature has already been merged into Discourse and is currently available in staging instances, with production deployment pending. Zanbabe expressed gratitude for the rapid resolution, and Sean_Dahlberg shared positive feedback after testing the new search capability on staging.
Is that what you had in mind?
Yes, that looks great. So, what does that mean… it is coming sometime soon? Sorry, not sure how the whole site works. Maybe I should already know that.
It’s kind of already there. The pull request zogstrip linked, which adds the feature, has already been merged into Discourse. So, the feature will be available after your site is updated.
It’s already available in your staging instance and will be available in your production instance when it’ll be deployed.
Thanks for the clarification, and awesome that you could do it so quickly. Thank you.
