Should deactivated "show on signup form" hide custom user fields in invites?

Option to hide custom fields on sign up form

Thank you for that feature. I actually expected that if the ‘show on signup form’ option was not enabled, the user field would not be displayed during signup, and I was very confused when I used this configuration:

and saw this:

Then I remembered that invitations sometimes work a little differently. And indeed, the field is not displayed in the ‘normal’ signup:

Is this intentional and do we need another feature request so that a deactivated ‘show on signup form’ also means that the field is not displayed for invites, or is this a bug?

I think that was likely an oversight so sliding this across to Contribute > Bug.

@ted It looks like we might have missed the invite form when implementing this. Can you have another look?
