Admin, Users. It would be nice to know how many users there are, before the list.

I guess it might be easy enough to put it there, but isn’t it also easy enough to go to the Admin → Dashboard?

Yep, though you only get the total.
If you look on the dashboard above the line shared by @Mittineague, you can see a breakdown of number of users per trust level, number of admins and moderators, number suspended, blocked. That’s what you are looking for, methinks, beyond just the total number of all users.
