Solved post snippet is not localized in OP

The topic shown here was written in French. My locale is set to English.
At various places, the French text appears.
I could swear I have seen a report of this before, but I am unable to find it.

Thanks for the report.

We don’t yet localize content added by plugins, but have some plans to do so in the future.

EDIT: I updated your OP @RGJ to reflect what I think is the issue here.

I am a little confused. How are the first two boxes connected to the solved plugin? Isn’t that a general issue that the untranslated title is used? I had the impression the [RĂ©solu] was added to the topic’s title by a user, not by the plugin.

Possibly, but somehow it’s (or actually, I see now: the entire topic title) not being translated.

I understand the snippet part, even though it’s hard to explain to a non-technical user that some parts of their screen are “plugin territory”, especially since that plugin is included in core.

But the <title> not being translated is not caused by the plugin?

Yup, that is different and can be separately updated.

I’m not sure what you mean by that.

Yes, this is correct. And subsequently, the translated title was not updated.

So we have:

  • solved feature request: snippet not localized
  • core bug: <title> not translated
  • core bug: topic title translation not updated when topic title changes

This is now done here:

OP will still be a ways to go.
