Hi! I have a very new Discourse site, through the Free Hosting program for Open Source Software. I was approved about a week ago, and went through the admin setup last week. This week, I went to go read through the admin guidance and start inviting users and found that… my site seems to be gone? When I navigate to https://storyteller.discourse.group, I get an error message that reads: “Sorry, the site you are looking for does not exist.”
AI-generated summary
smoores reported that their Discourse site, https://storyteller.discourse.group, was inaccessible, displaying the error message “Sorry, the site you are looking for does not exist.” However, multiple users, including RGJ and Lilly, were able to access the site without issues. smoores later confirmed that the site was working again for them as well. It’s possible that the site was down due to a region change for their instance, as indicated by a message smoores received. HAWK suggested checking status.discourse.org for any infrastructure changes that may have caused the issue.
… huh. It is indeed working for me now, too. I tried for like 30 minutes before posting and continually got that error. Weird. Well, thanks for checking, I suppose! Glad it’s back
I just saw (now that I can log in) that I have a message saying that the region for my instance was changed (the message is from 13h ago). Possibly the site was down during that migration?
Quite possibly. In the future you can check status.discourse.org to see if any infra changes may effect you.
