Splitting a topic to a hidden category makes title public

Please create a new feature that will hide the public link at the bottom of a split thread if the topic has been split to a forum only visible by staff and moderators. In my community we split off comments which derail the topic discussion into a staff only forum for tracking as opposed to deleting posts. I came across this situation today where posts were split into a new topic in a hidden section with a new short and… uh blunt title not realizing the title would be publicly visible (in the “SPLIT THIS TOPIC” summary that gets created)

I was suprised to find the permissions of the hidden category are not respected in this case. This is not really a high priority issue and a “solution” exists (delete the summary message). I guess I’m just concerned that this situation exists at all. If I didn’t check if the new topic title was visible in a private window, my default assumption was that only staff could see it.

저는 운영자가 여기서 무엇을 할지 결정할 수 있다고 생각합니다. 다만, 기본 사용성을 개선하기 위한 Contribute > Feature 요청을 받아들이는 데에는 열려 있습니다.

• 토픽이 분할되고
• AND 대상 토픽을 볼 수 있는 사람들 <> 소스 토픽을 볼 수 있는 사람들
• THEN
  1. 토픽이 어디로 이동했는지 설명하는 속삭임을 추가
  2. 공개 게시물에서는 분할되었을 뿐, 어디로 분할되었는지는 언급하지 않음

그러나 이는 아주 작은 엣지 케이스를 위해 구축하기가 상당히 복잡한 기능입니다.

I better understand the complexity required now.

The primary issue is that the behavior is unexpected, so a simpler solution could be to shift the responsibility more obviously onto the user splitting the topic.

For example, having a checkbox on this screen of whether to post the “topic has been split” message at all could be a solution
