OK, per ricapitolare, ti basavi su:
Supprimi dagli ultimi: rimuove solo elementi dalla lista dei topic di /latest
Silenzia categoria: rimuove dalla lista dei topic di /latest, rimuove da /categories e dal pannello laterale sinistro che mostra le categorie.
Abbiamo avuto molta confusione intorno a questa funzionalità:
I found a slight inconsistency in the UI that confused a user today. When you mute a subcategory, it is then hidden from the list in the parent category from Show subcategory list above topics in this category. For example, I muted advertising in the plugins category, if you then go to plugins, it is hidden:

But, on the main categories page it is still visible:

Super rare situation, but it seems to me that the category shouldn’t be hidden from view like this, or is it intend…
The top menu is configure like this:

so I have:
On The Left
Category-1 everyone can create/see/reply but Require moderator approval of all new topics
** sub-category-1 everyone can create/see/reply without restriction

I muted two categories and it still appear on top of the categories page (since it have recent activity). Shouldn’t it be hidden or at the bottom? It’s more annoying when I use categories as home page. And “categories with featured topics” option even showing me muted category’s topics too. Also is it better to order categories by notification_level and then activity.

I found this behavior somewhat unexpected:
Create category “Foo” with setting “suppress this category from homepage”
Create topic “Bar” in category “Foo”
Top menu is set to Latest | Categories | Unread
Topic “bar” is not shown on Latest, but is shown on Categories (so far so good).
In user preferences, select “Categories” as the homepage
Now, for that user, topic “bar” is shown on Latest but the entire Foo category is hidden on their Categories page.

We have a category, which creates lots of new topic because of embedding (topics are automatically created when a page with embedded Discussion is shown).

People are asking that this category should be suppressed from New topic. It can be suppressed form latest, but not from new. It would be nice to have a checkbox with “Suppress category from new topics”. (and RSS feed).
Sono indeciso su come gestire la situazione. Al momento abbiamo un sistema che è incredibilmente semplice da spiegare e offre agli utenti finali una flessibilità estrema. La vecchia opzione “supprimi dagli ultimi” non poteva essere sovrascritta dall’utente, era nascosta e sembrava quasi magica.
Nel complesso, dovremo aspettare almeno altre due settimane per raccogliere ulteriori feedback dalla comunità.
