My use-case is a forum where there is an even split between public and private content.

I wish to (privately) share the yearly review, included both private and public content.

The limitation of 5 public categories really sucks for this use-case. I’ve had to set up a staging site, make it log-in only, and reset the category permissions to everyone for the (5) categories I want to include. As I’m not sure which are the busiest, I’ve done this for another 10.

Can’t we just make this plugin a little more flexible?

I’d love to be able to specify which categories (public or private), and have no limit on the number of categories. 5 most commonly used public categories is fine as a default, but it is just too restrictive much of the time.

I think there is already no limit. One post is created for each category that you add to the yearly review categories setting.

You are indeed correct! I’ve just run it with 16 categories and all good. It will even run on private categories!

I wish I knew this before embarking on this little journey. I’ll update the wiki description of the plugin topic (done).
