I’m not sure how to reproduce at this point, but…
I often see post editing get into a state where various functions have no effect:
Thankfully the draft is automatically saved.
I have to force quit the app, relaunch it, open the forum, topic, draft I was at…and then save edit works.
That’s not exactly the latest version. Not saying that’s the issue but would be good to know if it happens on more recent versions too. Any way you could test that out?
And what Discourse version are you running?
Does it happen on all Discourse forums (if you use multiple)?
It’s definitely not the latest version of iOS, but it is the latest version that will run on my device. So I can’t test iOS 26, sorry. To test it would require prolonged, regular use of an iOS 26 device, or for us to discover repro steps.
I’m just a user so I don’t know the Discourse versions.
But, it has happened on multiple forums.
Discourse Hub app is 2.1.1 (latest public)
My only other thought is that the app is just a wrapper around the various websites, so it’s likely this is a problem in Discourse rather than the app?
While yes it’s a wrapper, that wrapper often carries a lot of specific implementations to adjust for iOS notoriously wonky behaviour. So it’s not a given that the same problem exists on other platforms, browsers, or even browser versions.
I’ve encountered this from time to time myself while using the progressive web app version, essentially everything in the composer becomes unresponsive, but unfortunately I can never manage to reproduce the issue consistently so it’s difficult to debug.
Glad it’s not just my fat fingers!
