Under a given forum topic, I want to set 1 post Max including any message & reply

I’m on free hosting & wanna create a feature where per forum topic, users including the topic creator can only put 1 post(/message) max
What this looks like: Topic creator cannot reply. Under that topic, other users can only post once under that topic. So they can only reply to the creator, & once.
All responses visible publicly though

I searched all settings, & there doesn’t seem to be a way to achieve this.

1. But is there a way to natively do this?
2. I wonder if this plugin restricted-replies can do this?
3. Other plugins/workarounds people can think of?

It’s better if this feature can be limited to a category of topics. If not, if this can only be done forum wide, I’m open to creating a separate forum just for this

Not quite what you want but how about slow mode as a workaround?:

Limit # topic posts / user / month

Like I said above, I can see the benefit of a category setting limiting the number of topics a user is allowed to post in a category in a given time period. But there is no such setting currently, and I am not aware of any other customers requesting it or having rule of three. Have you tried the “slow mode” category setting? I’ve not used it but it seems to be what you are looking for? You could set it to 30 days, so users are only allowed to post in the category once every 30 days. Though it a…

After playing around with it, yes, setting this at the category level doesn’t help as it disabled users from posting in other topics

But this was better; setting it at a topic level, however…

This requires manually setting it on each & every topic. Can this be set as default for all topics? I thought of the Automations plugin but it’s not in the free plan. Any ideas for setting this on a free plan?
