Updating discourse caused a lag

Hello I recently updated my discourse and for a while after it got pretty laggy

Hello @ice.d,

More specific detail would be helpful.

  • Upgraded from old version (i.e. actual version number) to new version (i.e. actual version number)
  • Amount of memory and CPU cores
  • Any underlying detail, etc

Sometimes an upgrade can trigger a global Post rebake. Look at your sidekiq queues.

This will eventually settle down once the backlog is dealt with.

Hello Bruce to be more specific recently my forum told me that my discourse needed updates which it seems to do everyday so I updated it to the newest version from the one before and for about 2-3 hours I experienced lags in the forum I’m not sure my memory amounts or cpu

How do I see that??

/sidekiq

I put that in the search bar not finding anything

It’s a web address not a search term!

(You need to be admin to see it)

Oh  thanks

Just to be clear that’s:

https://yourdomain.tld/sidekiq

ie sidekiq is the path within your discourse.

Just for info, I got a peak of 1000 jobs, so I too would advise waiting for a few hours to see if things settle. It can sometimes be a good idea to warn your users of an upcoming update, especially as it’s possible there will be some downtime if things don’t go well.
