Updating discourse launcher gives new issue

So the last few times i updated the launcher or what ever the thing is that takes for ever to update before other updates can be done, it gives me this

You are running an old version of the Discourse image

Updates via the web UI are disabled until you run the latest image. To do so log in to your server using SSH and run:

  cd /var/discourse
  ./launcher rebuild app

now this is an issue cause the forum owner hardly heads to the forum and doesn’t do it unless i email them to and its getting tedious to do so.

why do i get this so much?

The problem here is the owner then, not the command line updates. They have been, are, and will be required from time to time.

Perhaps they can give you the ssh credentials? If they can’t or don’t want to, then you’re stuck with this situation. It will keep happening.

Sorry but you are going to have to gain SSH access to run the upgrade

I’ve been running an instance for just over a year and I’ve had to do one command line update. Has your instance required more then that?
