User can choose language during registration

In multilingual communities, even though everyone writes in English most of the time, it would be nice to have users (optionally?) choose their language during registration, maybe even autodetected by the OS/browser locale, so they will not have to ever look for a personal profile settings screen.

Especially useful for unexperienced users.

This is, again, part of a more general request to add fields during user registration.

Ah, good to know. Is there a more general discussion somewhere here? Maybe it would make sense to reference it, so the connection appears in the conversations.
