Users can no longer change the color of links using BBCode after updating to Discourse 2.8.0.beta6. eisprinzessin found that nesting the color tag in links no longer works and using HTML as an alternative also doesn’t work. merefield suggested that the issue is due to the anchor tag taking precedence over the color tag, but eisprinzessin wants to keep the link and custom color. merefield discovered that using HTML font tags works, but eisprinzessin prefers not to use HTML. merefield investigated the plugin code and found no functional changes in the past 4 years. The issue may require an update to the plugin or a bug fix in Discourse.
I dug into the plugin code briefly. Tbh nothing appears to have changed BBCode plugin side functionally for about 4 years? All the commits since appear to be just coding standards and repo CI stuff?
Thank you very much. Yes, it was one of the first things I noticed after the update to 2.8.0.beta6. So, I assume either the plugin needs an update or Discourse a bug fix.
Or I need to be content with using HTML, too. But I find it messy to use three markup languages.
