Users reported that viewing email templates (specifically system_messages.reviewables_reminder) in the WYSIWYG composer triggers an error, displaying [object Object] instead of the template content. Moin confirmed the issue occurs when toggling to rich text mode. sam acknowledged the bug and advised temporarily avoiding the rich composer as a workaround. martin identified the root cause: the template’s text_body_template uses pluralization keys (one and other) that the UI doesn’t handle, unlike the subject field which does. He noted this bug has existed for at least six years. martin submitted a PR to fix both the forced editor mode and pluralization handling. xkhalid later noted the issue persists in Arabic, to which NateDhaliwal explained the fix was not yet merged. martin confirmed the PR has now been merged, apologizing for the delay due to a meetup and leave.

I think that happens when you use the new wysiwyg mode of the composer in that input field. I can reproduce it by using the toggle.
Thanks for reporting, we will have a look over the next few weeks. Workaround for now is not to select rich composer in this dialog.
I will make it so we can force a certain mode for certain DEditor components in the app.
Also…there is another bug here. I think because text_body_template here has one and other and our UI doesn’t account for this, which is why we see [object Object] as the error:
This happens in the Markdown editor too, so we are extra broken here. We handle this for the Subject:
But not for the body template. This has been broken the same way for at least 6 years now FIX: Don't refer to pending review items as flags · discourse/discourse@76669bb · GitHub … I guess noone ever tried to edit this template.
I will do the forced editor mode here, but I will also do some fix that is the same as Subject for one+other on the template.
I have a PR to fix this and make some minor composer changes here:
The PR hasn’t been merged yet. Once merged, you should update and it should be fixed.
Okay the PR has been merged; sorry for the delay, we had our meetup and then I was on leave.
