What is the meaning if the reply count for topic is red?

It’s a heat meter. The more likes a topic has per reply in average (I don’t know the exact formula), the redder the number is.

It also includes ‘Views’ too. 
You can adjust the values from the admin settings, though they’re dynamic and will update automatically based on your forum’s activity:
