What is the purpose of the "Views" feature?

AI-generated summary

The discussion revolves around the purpose of the “Views” feature on user profiles. VSCPlays initially thought it tracked total topic views, but discovered it actually counts profile visits. Canapin confirmed this, explaining that topic views can be seen in the “Topics” tab of a user’s profile, but there is no total topic views stat for a given user. VSCPlays acknowledged this and asked if they need to manually count and calculate topic views to find the total, to which Canapin replied that there is no built-in feature for this.

When I found the “Views” feature for your profile, At first, I thought it was for the total amount of views your topic have, but at the developer forums in roblox, I have like 8,600 total views for each topic I have, but I only get 1,827 at my profile, People had been telling me that it’s for how many people go to your profile.

Questions:

  1. Is it for how many people going to profiles?
  2. How can we count the amount of views of each topic?

I see from your screenshot that this forum may use the old interface; is the forum you took your screenshot from up-to-date?

  1. the one you showed is correct

  2. I do know and that forum does not use the latest version as far as I know, and I need the total, so does that mean I have to count all the views and calculate them to find it?

As far as I know, there is no “total topic views” stat for a giver user. It’s only calculated per topic.
