Ask AI - Search better in your community with Ask AI - now has its own section on your admin dashboard at /admin. As admins, you can now see how people are using it and what they’re asking about.
You can track questions asked over time, how many users are asking, and how quickly answers start coming back.
One highlight I’m particularly happy to share is the “What users are asking” section, which groups questions by subject and gives you a summary of what people are looking for. You can expand each subject to see example questions and explore the full report. Scroll through the images below ![]()
This can help you spot recurring questions and decide where a new guide, a clearer FAQ, or an updated topic might be useful. The report also shows how many questions were analyzed, and subjects can overlap.
Each heading in the new dashboard section has a corresponding backing data explorer query for easy exporting. Each period’s report is also persisted as a PM.
Setup
If you already have Ask AI enabled, you’ll find the new section on your dashboard at /admin (likely all the way below).
To configure reports, go to AI features → Search → Settings.
ai_ask_ai_report_weekly_enabled: Enable automatic reports for the previous seven complete days. This is off by default; you can also generate reports manually from the dashboard.ai_ask_ai_report_agent: Defaults to Ask AI reporter. Make sure it has a language model configured, or that your site has a default AI model.ai_ask_ai_report_exclude_groups: Exclude questions from selected groups. Staff questions are excluded by default. Clear this to include everyone.ai_ask_ai_report_max_asks: Analyze up to 200 questions per report by default, using the latest questions when the period exceeds this limit. You can raise this to 1,000, but larger reports need more model context and may cost more.ai_ask_ai_report_recipient_groups: Choose who receives weekly report PMs, and who can be included when generating a manual report. Defaults to admins. Clear this to keep automatic reports on the dashboard only. Reports include users’ questions, so choose the recipient groups accordingly.
Try it out
If you have Ask AI enabled, have a look on your community and let us know what you find. I’d love to hear whether the subjects surface anything you weren’t expecting!
