We wonder what happens if we change a topic’s title later down the road.
Will the link back posted elsewhere on the web brake?
I am having the case where new evidence would require a different thread title more adequately describing the issue. Will links to my thread still work when the title is changed?
The links will work fine if you rename a topic.
This link will bring you to this thread although I replaced the title in the link with a - for example:
https://meta.discourse.org/t/-/131719.
As long as the correct ID for the topic is in the URL after the part where the title should be it will work. I use the hyphen trick to link to topics when sites block long URLs from being posted.
