This is my first Discourse installation (v2026.9.0-latest +733). I chose French as the language, but when a user creates their account, they receive the message “Your account is awaiting approval.”
I can’t figure out what I need to change to make this message appear in French. Could someone help me or confirm if this is a known issue?

Discourse is mostly translated by volunteers. So the workflow is that a new feature with new texts is added. Then those texts appear on Crowdin, the translation platform. Then someone has to translate it. New translations are usually merged back into Discourse once a day, sometimes it takes a few days. All this takes time. So it’s not surprising that a text that was added recently is not yet translated.
I don’t think there is currently someone translating Discourse into French. At least I cannot spot recent translation activity. While French is one of the languages where translations are reviewed by a translation agency, those translators usually only work on the extended support release, so it might take until February for that to happen.
In case you want to help translating Discourse take a look at Contributing translations to Discourse. Feel free to ask any questions! The interface of Crowdin can be quite overwhelming.
You can also edit texts on your forum. There you can customize the French version of the text. That’s kind of the same amount of work, but benefits only your forum. If you add a translation on Crowdin all forums benefit from that.
