I have a user who lost their encryption key and asked for help, how can I help them to set a new one?
Are you referring to the discourse-encrypt key?
If you did mean email encryption, what plugin are you using to provide encrypted emails?

Yes the plug-in which gives a 12 word key (or similar) when you set it up, can something be done to get a new one for him?
I think it’s called encryption for a reason. If you do not have a backup of the key, you lose access to the contents encrypted with that key.

Hmm, I don’t believe we have any guidance in the plugin’s category (encrypt) on what to do if the key is lost (cc: @JammyDodger).
I believe the thing to do here is have the user disable and re-enable:
They will lose access to all encrypted messages and need to be re-invited IIRC.
