This one was a blast to track down.
When a user belongs to more than one group, and goes to select their “Primary” group within their preferences, the drop-down will show a numeral (in my case, it was “55”) instead of the actual group name. This occurs when the admin has limited “Who can see this group’s members” to “Group Owners.”
