I thought symlink can be much easier solution.

I’m fairly certain that no good can from using symlinks. One issue is that it’s hard to have the symlink be the same inside and outside the container, and I’m guessing that your nested uploads issue is related to that. I’ve seen it recommended not to use symlinks and I think this is why.
