The image options interface is a good example!
It highlights how Discourse excels at providing a UI and features that fit the user’s needs without any superfluous additions or visual accommodations that could ruin the user experience. It also doesn’t forget to provide a way for advanced customizations (and it’s easier every major milestone).
I appreciate the philosophy of offering a feature based on users’ interest (“rules of three”) and aim to keep things simple yet powerful, which is not easy to compromise.
That’s why Discourse feels great every day: it focuses on what matters, prioritising user experience while offering formidable features behind the scenes.
Of course, I’m biased as well and Discourse is not perfect; but I believe they are in the right direction considering how enjoyable this software is!
