haydenjames encountered an issue where sending a group message to the “Trust Level 2” group created a persistent group inbox labeled trust_level_2 for all 80+ members, even after deleting the message. They asked four key questions: (1) how to revert to a single “Inbox” view, (2) whether the empty group inbox will always appear, (3) if admins or users can configure visibility, and (4) if group inboxes can be nested under the main Inbox. mcwumbly replied that empty group inboxes should auto-delete after ~12 hours, citing techAPJ. haydenjames confirmed the inbox disappeared after waiting and noted the underscored name (trust_level_2) may have contributed to its display. They also asked if group names like “Trust Level 2” can be renamed to improve clarity — a feature not addressed in the thread. The goal is to reduce clutter and confusion for group members.
However, it seems this added a new group inbox for all 80+ members of the Trust Level 2 group (pathetic numbers, I know ). Even after deleting the message, I impersonated a TL2 test user and saw that the group inbox (e.g. trust_level_2) still shows up in their Messages UI (even though messages is empty/deleted):
Thanks for that. I’ll check in a few hours. Also is there anyway to nest these group inboxes instead of being separate from the main Inbox?
EDIT:
I checked back and it’s now deleted. I guess because it has underscores. Is there any way to rename the title of those Trust level groups? e.g. Trust Level 2 instead of trust_level_2 ?
