How do I find a person on Discourse?

I’m new to Discourse and want to search for users. The magnifying glass in the top right corner doesn’t let me search for users.

Discourse sites have a user list, like this: https://meta.discourse.org/u?order=likes_received

It’s reachable via the sidebar navigation.

Some sites have Discourse Locations plugin installed and you can see a map of the users via the Users Map link in the menu (if activated).

You can also reach the list of users using this : https://meta.discourse.org/g/trust_level_0 (if you are logged in) and there is a search bar that lets you search for users undernath:

(Just replace the link with your discourse site.)

You should actually be able to search for users here. If you have an idea of their username it will show up as suggestions below.

If not, you can also click the to go to the full page search and filter by Users:

Nice! Good reminders here that there are so many ways to find members of a community if you know their name. You can also find them when you want to mention them in a post, by typing @ and start typing their username. Then selecting the username from the autocomplete popup.
