a long topic title which gets truncated and which is pinned breaks the layout in “split view” see photo
AI-generated summary
A user, anderer, reported that a long, truncated, pinned topic title breaks the layout in “split view” mode, accompanied by a screenshot. awesomerobot initially suspected a theme issue but couldn’t reproduce it on a test site using default settings. anderer clarified they’re using the default theme and discovered the issue arises from hiding lock icons via custom CSS — the combination of a pin and lock icon appears to cause the layout glitch, as shown in a follow-up screenshot. awesomerobot confirmed the issue and submitted a fix via GitHub pull request #32528, which will be included in the next Discourse update.
This may be an issue with a theme for the specific site you’re using? I can see some layout differences from the default.
I can’t reproduce this issue on a test site:
@awesomerobot I apologize for not testing it thoroughly myself and give more precise information.
I am using the default theme and I took out my custom CSS - through which I realized that I am hiding all locks : ) … i do this because all categories are restricted to certain groups
now i guess the lock and the pin in combination are causing the problem
Ah yes thank you for clarifying! I’ve just added a fix here: UX: fix topic statuses on category list by awesomerobot · Pull Request #32528 · discourse/discourse · GitHub
You should get this the next time you update Discourse.
