Yes, I already use the first technique of automatic promotion by category, but it’s too general. It doesn’t allow targeting a specific topic or particular type of topic. Despite the settings, this mechanism sometimes promotes topics that have already been highlighted recently.
Regarding the second mechanism, the one at the individual topic level, I sometimes use it when I want to schedule a promotion at a specific date and time, which is very practical. However, most of the time, I don’t want to set a specific date and time, which makes the configuration unnecessarily time-consuming.
In reality, as the administrator of my site, I simply want to be able to choose which topics to promote to highlight them, and this occasionally based on the nature and interest of the topic. That’s why I would like to have, when a topic is displayed on screen, a simple ‘bump’ button that would allow me to promote it with just one click.
