In a discussion about the ‘Reviewable UI refresh’ site setting, T_Disco asked what the setting does and noted that enabling it for Admins didn’t visibly change the review queue. Moin clarified that the new UI is only visible when viewing a single item in the review queue — accessible by clicking the flag count under a post — and provided screenshots comparing the old and new interfaces. T_Disco confirmed seeing the new UI after updating to 3.5.0.beta8-dev and clicking the date link, admitting they hadn’t previously realized the individual review item page existed. They asked if there are plans to better signpost these individual pages from the main queue, perhaps with a ‘View review’ link. hugh acknowledged this as a known UX issue with the current review queue and confirmed it will be addressed in the ongoing UI refresh, which is still in progress.
The difference is visible when you look at a single item in the review queue. (I got there by clicking the number next to the flag icon below the flagged post.)
Thanks @Moin - I updated to 3.5.0.beta8-dev (1c7dae8f42) and have navigated to the single item review page (and can see the new UI) by clicking the date i.e
at /review?additional_filters=%7B%7D&sort_order=score&status=ignored
I was unaware that the individual review item page existed as had never clicked on the dates before. Do you know if there are plans to signpost the individual review item pages more clearly from the review queue page in some way? Adding something along the lines of a ‘View review’ link perhaps?
This is one of the UX issues we have identified with the current review queue, and will be remedied in the UI refresh that we’re working on at the moment. This is still very much a work in progress.
