Hello, I created a component myself in the system and uploaded a GIF image within the component. I want to use this image in custom code. I am currently using a full connection method, but will this have a performance impact by accessing it from the public network?

If I understand you correctly, I think you can use the theme_uploads in your about.json file, the reference it in your code?
