Summary
Discourse Rewind provides a fun end-of-year summary for members’ activity in the community.
Install Guide
This plugin is bundled with Discourse core . There is no need to install the plugin separately.
Features
Once your site has the latest Discourse update, you will be able to opt-in to Rewind for your site. Members will see this enticing little animation around their avatar:
Members can also visit /my/activity/rewind directly to see their Rewind for this year.
An activity report is shown with several fun summaries of the member’s past year.
FAQ
How can I opt-in to Rewind?
As an admin, visit /admin/plugins and enable the plugin, no other config necessary:
How can I dismiss Rewind?
Once members click on their avatar and the “Discourse Rewind 2025” header, Rewind will be dismissed for the year.
Then, members will still be able to access Rewind from their user menu:
How can I completely turn off Rewind?
If members wish to, they can visit /my/preferences/rewind to completely disable Rewind. Note, this will prevent Rewind from being shown in subsequent years too:

Is that good or bad? I feel bad that I have a negative value

The calculation algorithm only makes sense for users who post in English. For example, only a, e, i, o, u, and y are recognized as vowels. In addition, typical word lengths vary in different languages.

I noticed that one of my topics listed had the not showing correctly in the title. I realize it is hacky of me to use these but I like using emojis in titles, and it always bugs me when they don’t display properly. Is there a reason this appears to be hard?
And oops! A reminder for someone with the privileges to please remove my assignments! I admit I have had a tendency to forget to handle my assigned topics.

It’s not hard, just was missed. Will do a fix.
Yeah I have it too here on Meta…this readability score is probably the most wonky part. Will try and debug why people are getting negative scores and attempt a fix.

Thanks, didn’t even realise those buttons had tags nested in them.

Could we have Solved, Gamification, and Topic Voting sections added to it as well?

Emojis are misaligned:
Wouldn’t “Best Forum Friend” work slightly better? It keeps the well-known BFF acronym for wordplay:

Couldn’t reproduce the emoji issue with the same numbers:
Even with giant numbers it’s okay:

Some minor adjustments for small screen based on user feedback
Emoji misalign… ment seen as a mistake rather than intentional, don't care enough to keep it!

On smaller screens, the header tab style looks like a mistake rather than intentional when the name is this long... so I just switch the style for smaller screens to avoid it

It is compatible with yearly review plugin , right?

It should be. One creates topics summarizing the year, while the other is a tab in the user preferences.

Yes, this was fixed
correct, they’re entirely separate plugins — no dependence on each other

This font used is not fully international. Some characters get replaced by a default font. Other fonts are fine.

Hello!
This is just awesome, just experienced it myself when logged in here
Just a quick quuestion.
My community is self hosted, and updated with latest Discourse, but I am not seeing this new feature. Am I supposed to activate it somewhere?
Sorry if this is something obvious to ask, just can’t manage to see it.

What is your definition of “latest Discourse”? There are new commits every day, so it might be that your last update was before rewind was added.
Do you see the plugin at /admin/plugins? Is it enabled?
