Is it possible to have a category where users only see their own topics

Hello,

I want to create a category where each user can only see the topics they personally created, while admins (and possibly moderators) can see all topics in that category.

In other words:

• User A sees only the topic(s) they opened

• User B sees only their own topic(s)

• Users cannot see each other’s topics

• Admins/moderators can see everything

I understand that private messages can partially solve this, but I specifically need this behavior inside a category (topic-based), not as PMs.

Is this possible with category permissions, group settings, or an official plugin/theme component?

PMs are topics. What about pms causes a problem?

Do you need them in a category for a specific reason? Could a tag solve whatever the problem is?

Then the plugin should do what you want (I’m pretty sure).

The way the discourse people do it is they have them email to an address that goes to a category that no only staff can see. Users interact via email.

An alternative if you are in a Hosted plans that does not support the plugin linked.

You could also use a Group Mailbox. As this is for Support I would create create a Seperate group and add moderators and other elevated users who mig get help with these processes. If needed you could also create say 2 Groups. One for verification and one for support. The Ppl messaging don’t need to be part of the group. Just have to have group visible and able to be messages by everyone.

Then add link(s) to where you want this to be visible for members to create the group mailbox pm.
