Bug with the back button in Chrome browser

Hello,

When accessing Meta via the Chrome browser on iOS:

  1. Tap on a theme to enter the theme page.
  2. Next, tap the Chrome browser’s “Go Back” button. Sometimes it returns to the previous page, and other times it returns to the last page you were on before leaving Meta.

I’m not sure if this is a compatibility issue with the back navigation logic.

Tested five websites,
only Meta has been like this for a month,
while the other sites seem to have no issues.

This was probably lost in translation - I suppose you mean ‘topic’?

You’re probably right!

I tested with English selected, and there were no issues. But when I select Chinese, this problem occurs.

So this issue occurs when the interface language is not English?

I don’t think that’s what @NateDhaliwal was saying. It looks like there was a translation error in your post.

Looking at the screen recording, I don’t think this is Horizon-related. It appears to be Meta’s default theme.

One detail that may matter is that the video seems to show Chrome’s built-in page translation prompt, translating Meta from English to Simplified Chinese. The Discourse header still appears to show EN.

So this may be more specific to iOS Chrome’s page translation feature interacting with Discourse’s browser navigation and back-button history state.

Could you confirm whether the issue only happens when Chrome’s page translation is enabled?
