Yes, things have changed a lot over the past year. I like coding with AI agents, so I’m biased.
Getting back to what may be the real issue in this topic, I think there are lots of reasons for people to be concerned about the impact of AI on society. I don’t think think the argument that LLMs (or more precisely AI agents) are bad at writing code is going to hold up very well over time. My own concerns are mostly related to what happens when so much work gets piped through a few large tech companies. It would take an essay to get into that here though.
