Quintin_Par is trying to enable Discourse comments on his WordPress blog using JavaScript. The WP-Discourse plugin doesn’t currently support connecting old blog posts to existing Discourse topics. He plans to manually insert HTML code for each blog post, changing the topicId for each one. However, he’s struggling to override the existing comment code.
@itsbhanusharma suggests using the WP Discourse plugin, but Quintin_Par explains that the plugin doesn’t support this feature for existing comments. itsbhanusharma argues that the plugin has been updated since the issue was first reported and suggests checking the plugin settings.
Quintin_Par provides a recent comment from the plugin author confirming that the feature is still not supported. itsbhanusharma advises waiting for an update to the plugin, as individually modifying all posts would be a lot of work.
However, I don’t know a way to insert HTML code at blog post level that can override existing comment code. That code seems to be outside the scope of a blog post HTML code
That Post is Over a year and Half old, as far as I can see, The WP Discourse Plugin has came a long way since then and comments can indeed be integrated into posts. I haven’t ever had a need to use discourse comments on wordpress but I’m sure that there is a configuration Setting available under the plugin settings for the same.
