I wanted to explore whether there’s interest in an AliExpress affiliate plugin for Discourse. The concept is pretty straightforward: it would help forum admins seamlessly integrate their AliExpress affiliate tracking into their existing links, potentially monetizing their communities more effectively.
From my assessment, this is not a simple string replacement method but would require using the AliExpress API to obtain affiliate referral links.
If this is a plugin the community would find valuable, it could be more realistic to greenlight the project if more admins help share the cost or commit to purchasing it once it’s built. An affordable price point, somewhere around $100-$200 per Discourse installation, would make it a viable investment for me personally (assuming the plugin is well-built and regularly maintained to stay compatible with Discourse updates).
