Ability to disable *presence* functionnalities for users

While « Who is writing » and Whos online plugins are quit useful, users asked to be able to individually disable it because it is too intrusive for them.

Would it be possible to have a «Offline» profile field ?

I don’t know about appearing offline yourself, but if you just don’t want to see who (else) is writing at the moment check this out:

For those - like me - who don’t like this plugin you can easily “disable” (hide) it with uBlock Origin. Just go to “my filters” and add: ! 2/9/2018, 10:57:29 AM https://meta.discourse.org/* meta.discourse.org##.presence-users Obviously that won’t hide from others when you are answering a topic.

There is no per-user opt-out. But we are open to a pull request that would add this option.

That said, if your community is not particularly fond of this feature you can just disable the plugin all together.
