Hey guys,
I’m reading about fediverse. I don’t really understand the concept.
I have a gamer forum. How can this help improve my community? I need to publish all my posts in the fediverse?
I also saw that people use a custom domain. It is possible?

David_Ghost seeks clarification on the fediverse, asking how it can benefit his gamer forum and whether he must publish all posts there or use a custom domain. eisammy explains that ActivityPub allows instances to share content across the network, ensuring that topics are preserved on other instances even if deleted on one, while also highlighting the benefit of engaging with other websites without needing external accounts. However, Jagster responds with hope that topics are not deleted, implying a preference for content permanence on the original instance.

Activitypub is a protocol that we can install our instance to provide categories or posts on multi instances inside fediverse so if your topic was deleted today another instance will keep it
But best ones side this protocol its the fact to share with other websites without necessary creating an account outside here
