If you are using the Alien Night Theme, you should have got informed by now, that there is an update available.
So just click on Check for Updates and upgrade to the latest version.

I feared the theme might have issues with other components. I will check the versatile banners out. What exactly does not work?

Basically, it makes the orange image orange background dissapear and replaces it with white.

The tickbox seems to be for switching between light and dark theme. Not the slider as it shows in the theme.

I tried all of your mentioned things and everything looks good for me.

Be it the versatile banner
Or the Light <> Dark switch
Especially your checkbox for Light and Dark gives me the one and only conclusion:
you are using an outdated Browser (e.g. Internet Explorer 10), which I (won’t) don’t support. Is this right?

Sto sperimentando con questo per https://discuss.elastic.co, ma non riesco a capire come far sì che la nostra icona dell’intestazione predefinita, con testo nero, venga sostituita da una con testo bianco, in modo che rimanga leggibile.
Nell’OP ho visto che riesci a ottenere questo risultato; qualsiasi consiglio tu possa darmi sarà molto apprezzato

Adoro il tema, grazie! C’è un modo per impostare la versione ‘chiara’ come predefinita? In questo modo gli utenti potranno scegliere la versione scura se lo desiderano.
La versione chiara è esattamente quello che sto cercando per quanto riguarda i colori e altro, quindi preferirei che fosse quella predefinita.

Ciao, sono nuovo su Discourse, quindi non sono sicuro se si tratti di un errore da parte mia, ma ho problemi con la modifica dei colori.
Ho copiato i colori scuri predefiniti del tema e li ho modificati secondo le mie preferenze, ma il fatto è che alcuni colori sono cambiati e altri no?
Vedi l’immagine per i nuovi colori e la modifica effettiva dei colori nella sezione di amministrazione; i colori che hanno funzionato sono visibili sul sito principale talk.carptalk.com
