That’s a good point - thanks. I agree it would be annoying to complete ban staff tags from public use.
This problem could be solved I am sure. Some ideas:
- can the same tag be added to multiple tag groups? If so, and if someone has permission to create new tags and chooses to create one that exists already in a private tag group, then it would just make it available as an ungrouped tag. Staff would then have to keep an eye on tags to manage the tags and make sure there aren’t too many stray tags available to the public.
- provide a security setting for each tag, not just each tag group. You could create a tag as a private tag initially if there is no foreseen public use for it, and then if someone decides to create the same tag to add to a public topic, it would then change to public tag.
- very MVP: just lock down who is allowed to create tags if you are also using private tags.
