As I understand it, this plugin is going to be standard (at business hosting levels and above) soon. Are there any examples of what it can do here on meta.discourse.org or on other public sites?

We use it for a number of different things in our internal Discourse instance. Here are a few that spring to mind:
- randomly assigning people to recurring jobs (accessibility testing, bug crushing, log reviews)
- onboarding PM/email series for new staff members
- a weekly reminder to post in our stand up/check in topics
- secret santa matching
- reminders for bi/annual performance reviews
