Questo è solitamente dovuto al fatto che i provider di posta elettronica adottano misure molto aggressive per prevenire il collegamento diretto alle immagini: non desiderano che gli URL delle immagini utilizzate nelle e-mail siano impiegati al di fuori del loro dominio di webmail.
