Can't have a referenced quote as part of a bullet list item

I’m not able to add a quote to a bullet list item. Adding the necessary 2 spaces in front of the quote markdown means it’s not rendered at all:

This is a bit of a feature request… we are deliberately very strict with bbcode. It can get enormously complex if you allow too many permutations.
