Categories + Latest not showing latest poster

Hello,

I like to use the Categories + Latest view, but I find confusing that the latest poster is so prominent in the right part, making it difficult to identify a topic’s author vs. a topic’s responder. Moreover, when you tend to browse-and-reply, you end up being the only avatar showing up on this page, which is not very informative besides “this user just posted”, and certainly not showing the diversity of responders.

Are there any existing discussions on that topic, which I did not find, or workarounds that may be applied to CSS or some theme component to address this issue?

This is a simple theme component that shows the profile picture of the original poster (OP) on the mobile topic list, rather than the latest reply. On the mobile theme, the list of posts show's the latest replying user's avatar, not the OP's avatar

I have had several people come to me very confused why their post was attributed to another user. This is because the avatar of the latest poster is used in the mobile view and nothing else (not even an author name). The author of the post is always the left most user on the desktop theme for a reason; not carrying over this important distinction is highly confusing.
