Deleted posts still show full content when translation is enabled

Hi, I was reading a thread earlier and was confused because the amount seemed to be listed twice, but then I noticed something.

When a post is deleted by its author, the post body is still rendered in full if the viewer has the translation feature enabled (Discourse AI / translations). Switching back to the original language correctly shows the “(post deleted by author)” placeholder. The cached translation appears to be rendered without checking the post’s deleted state.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Enable post translation (Discourse AI translator) on the site.
  2. Create a post in language A; let it be translated into language B.
  3. View the topic with the translation toggle active (viewing in language B).
  4. Delete the post as the author.
  5. Reload the topic while still viewing the translated version.

Actual

The full translated post body is displayed. Only after switching back to the original language does the placeholder appear. See screenshots — same post, same author, same edit count and timestamp.

Notes

This is potentially a privacy issue: content the author intended to remove remains publicly readable to anyone using the translated view.
