And are there any other hosting services other than the above 2?
The first one is very pricy and the second one from what I understand is a one time hosting service. If we have our own infrastructure is it better to go with 2nd one if there isnt any other hosting services?

We wanted to integrate discourse as a discussion forum for the students like discussion forum in Coursera for eg. We are very fast moving organisation and want to get this discussion forum up and running as soon as we can. It would be helpful if we can get on call at the earliest possible time to have a discussion around this.

Je m’oppose à la terminologie « garder en otage ». Outre le fait que je trouve de mauvais goût et ridicule de comparer une situation commerciale à un tel crime, cela impliquerait que les clients ne peuvent pas quitter notre hébergement, alors qu’ils le peuvent : vous pouvez télécharger une sauvegarde, modifier votre DNS et changer d’hébergeur à tout moment.
Lorsqu’un plugin n’est pas dans la liste des plugins installables, contactez-nous simplement et dites-nous quel plugin vous souhaitez installer. Nous l’examinerons et, lorsqu’il sera stable et correspondra aux limites de votre plan, nous l’installerons dans les 12 heures.
Nous ne vous permettons pas d’installer vous-même des plugins car nous proposons un hébergement géré où nous empêchons votre forum de planter ou de tomber en panne. Si nous autorisons nos clients à avoir un accès SSH et/ou à installer des plugins que nous ne connaissons pas, nous ne pouvons pas assumer cette responsabilité.
Si vous êtes compétent en SSH, pourquoi ne pas auto-héberger ?

Non, il y a 12 plugins (fixes) sur le plan de démarrage.
Sur le plan Professionnel, vous pouvez installer 5 plugins supplémentaires de votre choix, créés par Communiteq, Discourse ou Pavilion. Sur le plan Business, vous obtenez jusqu’à 10 plugins créés par n’importe qui (tant qu’ils sont bien écrits). Si vous en voulez plus, contactez-nous et nous discuterons de vos besoins.
Oh, vraiment ? C’est très gentil. Même 8 plugins peuvent faire le travail avec le plan de démarrage.
Hmm, je vais y réfléchir pour mes autres forums ou je migrerai vers vous après avoir obtenu une bonne visibilité pour mon forum.
